When Gabrielle missed chemistry because she was hungover, Dana 
let her copy her notes. 

When Gabrielle borrowed underwear because she hadn't done laundry 
in weeks, Dana gave it to her.

When Gabrielle laughed as she told her about sleeping with Stoner Tom 
from across the hall, Dana tried to laugh too.

When Gabrielle spoke in her sleep, Dana listened. 

When Gabrielle hobbled in on one cork wedgie at four am, Dana caught 
her as she fell. She never wore a bra and Dana tried to look away 
from the soft, pale flesh that swelled under her gold halter. 

When Gabrielle kissed her, Dana kissed back. 

When Gabrielle crawled into bed with her at night, Dana kissed those 
breasts and pink nipples again and again, sliding her hands greedily 
into warm places, and stopping moans with full lips and slick tongue.

When Gabrielle said she was moving in with her boyfriend, Dana 
pretended she hadn't heard.
